Founded in the Edo Bunka era (1603-1867), this three-story wooden ryokan in the sukiya style was built in front of Kusatsu Yubatake. In 2012, it was certified as a registered tangible cultural property by the Agency for Cultural Affairs. It is the only inn in Kusatsu Onsen that is a cultural asset.

In the event of loss or intentional damage, 20,000 yen will be charged as a deposit, and the amount will be refunded at a later date by registered mail, after deducting the actual cost of replacing or making the key and other expenses related to the refund.

Yukata are for both men and women; please bring your own from the 2nd floor hallway.
Please refer to the guide on this site for how to wear a yukata.
You can also walk around in a yukata.

Preparation of bedding

No room cleaning on the 2nd/4th night.
Towels and mineral water will be prepared in your room in advance for the number of nights you stay.
As an effort to protect the environment, we will use a no-entry cleaning style.
Please inform the front desk if you wish to have your room cleaned up.

For guests staying with breakfast, bedding will be laid out before check-in.
Futon lifting will be done after check-out.

About the smoking area

Precautions in the Museum

There is no smoking area in the building.

We do not accept dinners or banquets with a vinegared lady or companion.
There is no elevator.
The wooden construction of the hotel makes it susceptible to noise. Please be considerate when ascending and descending stairs and opening and closing doors.
No pets of any kind (except service dogs) are allowed in the hotel. (Pets of any kind (except service dogs) are not allowed in the building.
Please refer to the evacuation route map on the inside of the interior door, and walk through at least two emergency exits to confirm that you are actually in the right place.
If you are physically disabled and feel uneasy about evacuation, please inform the front desk in advance.
